SINOTRUK Holds R&D Personnel Meeting

On August 21, SINOTRUK held an R&D personnel meeting to communicate and implement the guiding principles of the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Conference, review the latest progress in scientific and technological innovation, and make arrangements for the next phase of work. Wang Zhijian, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Before the meeting, Wang Zhijian and his delegation visited SINOTRUK’s showcase of cutting-edge products and technologies, where they examined innovations including electric drive axles, intelligent driving, electric drive transmission systems, intelligent cockpits and independently developed controllers. They learned in detail about efforts to achieve breakthroughs in key technologies and iterative product upgrades, and held in-depth discussions with frontline R&D personnel.

At the meeting, key R&D representatives from fields including control strategies, in-house electronic control technologies, new energy vehicles, intelligent driving technologies, body design, transmission systems, special-purpose vehicles, AI-driven digitalization and intelligentization, standards and modularization, and process research spoke in turn. They shared their latest achievements and innovation directions in areas including strengthening the core competitiveness of new energy heavy-duty trucks, real-world deployment of intelligent driving, independent and controllable electronic control systems, whole-vehicle NVH, AI-enabled digital prototype development, and unmanned special-purpose equipment.

Wang Zhijian noted that in recent years, SINOTRUK has continuously increased its R&D investment, significantly expanding both the breadth and depth of scientific and technological innovation. This has strongly driven sustained growth in business performance and enabled SINOTRUK to lead the industry in high-quality development. Going forward, SINOTRUK must resolutely build competitive advantages in technology, quality, cost and service across its full range of commercial vehicles, ensuring that its heavy-duty trucks lead domestically and catch up with and surpass international competitors, while building differentiated advantages in light-duty trucks, VANs and special-purpose vehicles. It must focus its efforts on achieving across-the-board leadership in new energy and intelligent connected products, deepen development for specific application scenarios, maintain reserves across multiple technology pathways, and build a new product portfolio with TCO advantages. It must accelerate product planning and adaptation development for global markets, better meet the demands of complex operating conditions worldwide, and expand room for growth in overseas markets. It must make forward-looking plans for next-generation products and strengthen industrial-chain security and its ability to master cutting-edge core technologies. It must deepen the transformation of its forward-development system and talent transformation program, accelerate the development of an AI+PLM integrated R&D platform, and promote the widespread application of artificial intelligence in high-value core R&D scenarios. All R&D personnel must remain confident, dare to take on challenges, and accelerate their progress toward world-class science and technology, making SINOTRUK a shining calling card for the global commercial vehicle industry.

Relevant leaders of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, members of SINOTRUK’s leadership team, and heads and key personnel from its R&D units attended the meeting.
